يَأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُؤنَ, O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you so that you may become pious. (Al-Baqarah:183), مَنْ أَفْطَرَ يَوْمًا مِنْ رَمَضَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِ رُخْصَةٍ وَلاَ مَرَضٍ لَمْ يَقْضِ عَنْهُ صَوْمُ الدَّهْرِ كُلِّهِ وَإِنْ صَامَهُ, Anyone who breaks his fast even for a day, without a good reason or illness, he will not make up for the missing day even if he fasts for a whole year., وَمَنْ كَانَ مَرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِّنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ بِكُمُ اليُسْرَ وَلاَ يُرِيدُ بِكُمُ الْعُسْرَ, But if anyone is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period should be made up by days later. Allah intends facility for you; He does not want to put you to difficulties. (Al-Baqarah:185),
