ENERGY PRODUCTION - The burning of fossil fuels produces carbon dioxide which leads to global warming. Greenhouse gases such as CO2 are emitted during the extraction, processing & then burning of fossil fuels., TRANSPORT - The number of vehicles on the road has increased, particularly in the developed world. This means more fossil fuels are being burned. Cars, lorries and planes emith CO2 and nitrous oxide (which is 300x stronger than CO2), DEFORESTATION - As trees are cut down this reduces the amount of carbon dioxide that can be taken in by trees and by burning roots and stumps, this adds the stored carbon to the atmosphere as carbon dioxide, AGRICULTURE - Adding fertilisers can add to the nitrous oxide (N2O) being produced by farming. Cattle emit large quantities of methane (CH4) in the breaking down of their food. In developing countries, increasing wealth is increasing demand for red meat, resulting in more cattle, increasing methane emissions, CFCs (CHLOROFLUOROCARBONS) - These are found in fridges, air conditioning, aerosols and as a by-product of the production of polystyrene packaging leading to an enhanced greenhouse effect.,
