Dear Stephanie, How are you? We’re fine. Our trip round the States ____ well and we ____ ourselves a lot. One good surprise is that things ____ less here than back home. For example, this weekend we ____ in a motel beside a lake and we ____ only $65 per night for a room with a beautiful view. The only thing we ____ much is the food. Restaurants ____ dinner rather early. We ____ at six o’clock at home so we ____ hungry then and American portions ____ very big to us. Apart from that, we ____ a wonderful time. We ____ lots of interesting little towns and we absolutely ____ the scenery. People here ____ in a very friendly manner towards strangers. All the shop assistants ____ at us, and everyone ____ ‘Have a nice day!’ At home, the TV ____ us bad news stories about the States, but in fact, when you ____ here, you ____ it’s a really great place.
