Thalidomide - Antineoplastic/immunomodulator, increases natural killer cells, levels of interleukin-2 , and interferon gamma. Used in Multiple Myeloma patients.  Major side effects are peripheral neuropathy, sedation, and constipation., Filgrastim - Granulocytic growth factor used to treat and prevent neutropenia, especially after chemo. It binds to and stimulates immature neutrophils to divide and differentiate and activates mature neutrophils. It BURNS!, DDAVP - Antidiuretic/Clotting promoter that increases factor VIII in the blood to increase clotting and stop bleeding. Used for hemophilia patients, as well as in other bleeding disorders., Lenalidomide - Antineoplastic/immunomodulator agaent that helps the immune system fight cancer. Major side effects are Neutropenia and Thrombocytopenia., Sulfamethoxazole - Antibiotic that is given prophylactically to multiple myeloma patients. Side effects are nausea, rash, and fever. It increases risk of toxicity with warfarin and is hepatoxic. , Aminocarproic Acid - Fibrinolysis inhibitor that stabilizes formation of blood clots. Indications are hemophilia or hemorrhage. It prevents clot destruction but has limited effectiveness in oral surgery or mucosal bleeding. , Hydroxyurea - Chemo agent for sickle cell, myelogenous leukemia etc.. It interferes with DNA synthesis and also alters RBCs (Hbg F). In sickle cell, it decreases the pain episodes and need for blood transfusions. Increases risk of neutropenia. , Mesna - Antidote that prevents drug induced hemorrhagic cystitis. (Particularly with Cyclophosphamide) , Doxorubicin - Chemo agent that treats tumors, lymphoma and leukemia. It is only given IV, and has a lifetime limit of 550 mg due to it's risk of casing heart failure/cardiomyopathy. Can cause GI symptoms, RED urine, anemia, leukopenia etc. , Cyclophosphamide - Chemo agent for all types of cancer. Major adverse reaction is risk of hemorrhagic cystitis. , Dronabinol - Cannabinoid, used in cancer patients on chemo. It prevents nausea and vomiting and can increase appetite. , Megestrol Acetate - Antineoplastic/hormone therapy that helps regression of tumors as well and increase the appetite by inhibition of the pituitary function. Increased risk of thromboembolism and risk of bleeding w/ Warfarin. , Octreotide - Hormone/Antidiarrheal that is used to stop bleeding in variceal hemorrhage. It also treats diarrhea in cancer patients on chemo. , Heparin - Anticoagulant used in early stages of DIC, and as prophylactic and treatment of thromboembolism.  Major risk of bleeding., Interferon - Immune modulator/antiviral to treat chronic hepatitis B and C. , Diphenhydramine - Antihistamine used to treat allergic reactions and to avoid allergic reactions in both blood transfusions and chemo. Side effects are drowsiness, anorexia and dry mouth. , Pamidronate - Biphosphonate that inhibits the resorption of bone. Used for multiple myeloma as well as hypercalcemia with malignancy. , Dexamethasone - Steroid that is the preferred steroid treating multiple myeloma and leukemia because it can induce apoptosis in myeloma cells and decrease bone pain. Preferred to prednisone because it is more toxic to lymphoid cells. ,
