A topology is the organisation or pattern that devices are connected together on a network., Each device on a topology is called a node., In a star topology all devices are connected to each other via a central device called a switch., In a mesh topology each each node is connected to at least one other node and usually to more than one., In a mesh topology there is no central connection point., In a star topology it is easy to add new devices., If the switch fails in a star topology, no devices will work any more., In a mesh topology, transmission is more reliable because there are multiple routes., Having so many connections in a mesh topology means more maintenance.,
