On Thanksgiving day Americans watch a parade, decorate our houses and have a big family dinner., Many years ago in 1620, a group of pilgrims got off their ship in America., It was a tough cold winter. They didn’t have enough food and many people got sick., When the Spring came, the pilgrims had to learn how to feed themselves., Native Americans showed them how to grow plants, like corn., In the fall, the pilgrims gathered a big harvest. They decided to have a big fancy dinner and invite the Native Americans. This was the first Thanksgiving., Native Americans were the people who had lived in America for a long time.,
