Lev and Sara decided that today was the day – they were going to the animal rescue centre to get a new puppy. They had been sad long enough. Their last dog had passed six months ago, and they needed some canine love in their lives., At the shelter, Lev and Sara walked up and down the aisles of cages looking at each dog, trying to see which dog reminded them of their dear, departed pet, Freckles. Freckles had been a shaggy, rust-coloured mutt with big blue eyes. Would they find a dog who could replace Freckles?, "Look!” said Lev, pointing at a tiny, scared, white puppy hiding in the corner of its cage. It didn’t look anything like Freckles but something about it made Lev want to reach out.
