Dear Diary,This has been the most extraordinary week. ____ I know I have been told many times before not to leave the confines of the compound, Tuesday afternoon was so dull that my curiosity got the better of me. As I cautiously peeped through the fence, I saw a startlingly white lion cub. ____ I had a chance to squeal, I was racing furiously towards the magnificent creature. Did you know there was such a thing? There was no mistake ____, he was almost glowing white like the moon on a clear night. This morning, at dawn, I was woken by a chorus of urgent neighing. ____, the precious cub was back and this time he was in danger! ____ having been laid up again with sickness, quite unbelievably Mother came to his rescue and between us we gathered up the mud-matted cub and brought him home. ____ what felt like an eternity of arguing, somehow mother managed to persuade father to let us raise him. I have never felt so elated in my whole life! That’s all I have time for now, ____ I’ve got to get some milk for the cub before he wakes up. Bertie
