President Roosevelt loved the land so he made it illegal to kill the buffalo., The government worked to save the prairies., They helped save the prairie by learning to take care of the land and the buffalo., Farmers were taught to plant and grow crops in curves and grass in between to hold soil in place., After the grass had grown back they released buffalo into the prairie., The Tall Grass Prairie in Oklahoma is a nature preserve where no one can hunt buffalo., The buffalo had almost been hunted to extinction but they were saved and grew back in numbers.,
