New person speaks = new paragraph., Metaphor - Comparative Language: Something is something else e.g. Bob is a lion, Simile - Comparative language: Something is 'like' or 'as' e.g. Bob is like a lion, Personification - Using human characteristics to describe an object or non-human thing. e.g. The car cried., Oxymoron - Two opposite words used next to each other e.g big baby. Effect: to contrast., Juxtaposition - Two opposite ideas or themes that appear close together. Effect: to contrast, Tenor - The subject being described in a metaphor., Vehicle - The figurative comparison in a metaphor., Ground - What the tenor and vehicle in a metaphor have in common., Pathetic Fallacy - Giving human emotions/characteristics to weather/season to reflect mood., P - Write a point sentence using an adjective to describe the question., E - Relevant evidence to support point. Use quotation marks., T + A1 - Identify the technique used in the quote and explain its effect., A2 - Pick relevant keyword + identify word class + relevant connotations not synonyms. , A3 - Explain effect on the reader, L - Link to what was happening at the time/writer's message.,
